Carmichael – Barcia – Coombs on DMXS Radio’s 15th Anniversary

In 2001, Ricky Carmichael began his reign of domination in the 250 class, Ernesto Fonseca and Travis Pastrana were your 125 supercross regional champions and Mike Brown won one of the most competitive 125 outdoor championships we’ve ever seen. It was also the year that DMXS Radio first hit the airwaves to about five listeners on a painfully slow dial-up internet modem. We’ve probably quadrupled our listener base and had an absolute blast covering this amazing sport over the last 15 years.

There have been many riders that we’ve been fortunate enough to cover throughout their careers, but Ricky Carmichael’s support to our fledgling little show from the start has been the most impactful by far. We look forward to a little walk down memory lane with the GOAT.

Racer X’s Davey Coombs has been a friend, mentor and hero of ours in this sport from the beginning. We are beyond fortunate that he saw a little something in this show and made sure we had the support throughout the years to keep this traveling circus going.

Our time spent in the trenches of amateur racing and forming those bonds and relationships with riders and their families before the spotlight gets too bright has been the most rewarding part of doing this show. We’ve been torturing and having fun with Autotrader/Monster Energy/Suzuki’s Justin Barcia since he was on a mini bike and wanted to get one of our favorites on to help celebrate this milestone.

Tonight at 8-10pm EST

Wil Hahn – Shane McElrath

We have been on every step of Wil Hahn’s journey and just had to get him on after he recently announced his retirement from fulltime racing. There isn’t a better person in this sport and we are so pumped his new job keeps him in the pits. Lil’ Wil will tell about the arduous decision and exciting future plans where he’ll have the opportunity to work with pros and amateurs.

Troy Lee/Red Bull/KTM’s Shane “Moody” McElrath is looking to build off of his strong finish in supercross last year after poor finishes in the first few rounds took him out of championship contention. We’ll get his thoughts on the upcoming season and recent win at Red Bull Straight Rhythm.

DMXS Radio thanks, Troy Lee Designs, Moto Dynasty, SCOTT, Shades of Gray, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers, Coach Robb Beams, vurbmoto, Skull Candy, and Stellar MX Graphics for their continued support.

Canard – Brett Smith

Red Bull KTM’s Trey Canard hit the reset button and will start out 2017 on a different brand after nearly a decade with Honda. Trey is a proven race winner on the 450 and we’ve seen this kind of change jumpstart a career many times before. We’ve always thought he looked good with orange hair and now has a bike that matches.

Brett Smith is one of our favorite journalists in the sport and we’re so glad he was one to pen an article on the Georgia motocross legend, King Kelly.  Brett did an amazing job capturing the renegade spirit that defined our own Kevin Kelly’s father in his article. We’ll get his thoughts on that story and the other big pieces he has dropping this week, including one on Damon Bradshaw.

DMXS Radio thanks Troy Lee Designs, Moto Dynasty, SCOTT, Shades of Gray, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers, Coach Robb Beams, vurbmoto, Skull Candy, and Stellar MX Graphics for their continued support.

Cole Seely

Honda HRC’s Cole Seely went ahead and knocked out the final All Japan MX National with a win and a solid showing at the Monster Energy Cup after a hand injury had him sidelined most of the summer. Cole usually just lets his riding do all the talking, but we’ll make him actually talk tonight.

DMXS Radio thanks Troy Lee Designs, Moto Dynasty, SCOTT, Shades of Gray, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers, Coach Robb Beams, vurbmoto, Skull Candy, and Stellar MX Graphics for their continued support.
